Veneers and Bonding
Cosmetic procedures such as dental bonding or veneers are easy and effective ways to enhance your smile and your appearance. Veneers are thin but durable shells made of porcelain that are affixed directly to your teeth to close gaps, or to cover stained or misshapen teeth. Bonding involves a composite resin applied to your teeth to repair chips and gaps, or to repair teeth that have suffered from decay.
To place porcelain veneers, your bite may need to be balanced. Once the balancing is complete, a thin layer of tooth enamel will be removed to prepare your tooth for the veneer. The color, shape and size of the tooth are then carefully matched and sculpted.
Once bonded to the tooth, veneers are difficult to remove so they are meticulously evaluated to ensure that the fit and appearance is exactly right. |
