Prosthodontics
In British Columbia, Prosthodontists are dentists who have satisfied the specialty examination process conducted by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia—allowing that dentist to be a "certified specialist in Prosthodontics".
Today, a Prosthodontist's professional education includes several years of additional university training after dental school in a post-graduate centre. Prosthodontists are highly trained in the fixed and removable replacement of missing teeth including placement and restoring of dental implants, cosmetic dentistry to improve the smile, and restorative dentistry to restore broken down teeth. They also provide complex management of patients suffering from TMJ pain, traumatic injuries, and post oral cancer. |
